Editorial standards and corrections

Updated 2026-10-21

Our purpose

Our educational articles help readers understand medical, business and environmental topics. We prioritize useful explanations, context and practical questions over the number of articles published.

Sources and evidence

Writers use primary research and appropriate official authorities where available. Reviewers check whether each material claim is supported and whether important limitations are missing. Sources, publication dates and review dates are included. Preliminary studies, association, causation and expert opinion are described distinctly.

AI assistance and review

AI tools assist with research, drafting, editing, source checks and image selection. AI checking can miss mistakes and is not a substitute for clinical expertise or legal advice. Articles identify any actual human author or reviewer only when that person performed the stated work. An AI review is not described as peer review, physician review or legal approval.

Publication checks

Our publication workflow requires factual, editorial, source, link and image checks before publication. Material unsupported claims must be corrected or removed. Unresolved issues can delay an article; the publishing target does not override these checks. Passing an automated check is not a guarantee that an article is error-free.

Images

Each article receives its own relevant image. We do not assign one original image to multiple articles; crops or renamed copies count as the same image. The same article may display its own image as a listing thumbnail and as its cover. Image credits and licenses are retained. Illustrations, stock photographs and generated images must not imply that they document IC-MER's patients, facilities, people or research results.

Commercial relationships

Where an article contains paid promotion or a material relationship, the relationship is disclosed clearly near the relevant content. Editorial conclusions must be supported regardless of a commercial relationship. This policy does not assert that any such relationships currently exist.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error to info@ic-mer.org. Include the article URL and supporting information without private patient details. We assess reported concerns against the article and its sources. An article may be updated or withheld while a serious concern is checked. Publication, source-check and update dates are shown separately where available. Routine formatting or link changes do not imply a new factual review.
