Website privacy notice
Updated 2026-10-24
About this notice
This notice describes the IC-MER educational website. It is not a patient portal or a research-participant intake system. It covers this website’s features; other websites and services may have separate notices.
Preparing an inquiry
The contact page prepares an email draft in your browser using the name, email address, organization, area of interest and message you enter. Selecting Prepare email opens your email application; it does not send the message or submit an inquiry to an IC-MER website database. You choose whether to send it. Selecting Copy inquiry copies the prepared text to your device clipboard. If JavaScript is unavailable, use the direct email link instead.
Newsletter signups
If you choose to join our newsletter, we store your email address, signup time, signup source and consent-notice version in our private website database hosted through ChatGPT Sites. We use these details to maintain the mailing list and provide the updates you requested. Signing up does not create a patient relationship. Do not enter medical information.
Newsletter delivery is not yet activated. A delivery provider may be connected later and will be identified in this notice. Only authorized administrators can access the list. We do not sell newsletter email addresses. To withdraw consent or request deletion before delivery begins, email info@ic-mer.org with the subject Unsubscribe. Future newsletters will include an unsubscribe option. We retain signup information until you withdraw consent or the list is discontinued, subject to any necessary suppression records.
What happens to the draft
The inquiry composer does not save your entries in browser storage or a website inquiry database. Your browser or email application may handle autofill and drafts under its own settings. If you send the email, your provider and the recipient’s provider handle delivery, and IC-MER receives the information you included. Keep initial inquiries general and avoid medical records, sensitive participant information, passwords or payment-card details.
Hosting and access
The website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites. Serving and protecting pages and handling sign-in for restricted areas can involve technical and authentication information processed by the platform. The absence of an inquiry database does not mean that no technical information is processed. Contact us with questions about information handled in connection with the site.
Browsing and article searches
The research-interest filter works within your browser. The educational journal sends search terms in the requested page URL to return matching articles. Those URLs may appear in browser history and hosting request logs. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in search terms.
Current website features
We have not added an advertising pixel, analytics integration or payment collection. Newsletter signups are described above. Editorial storage holds website content, source references, image records and internal reviews. The site does not provide a channel for uploading patient records.
External links
Links to research sources, maps and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. An outbound link is not an embedded service. If future articles load images or other assets directly from another provider, that provider’s role must be assessed and this notice updated as appropriate.
Privacy questions
For questions about information you share with IC-MER, email info@ic-mer.org, call +1 (727) 492-0491, or write to 626 Sunset Dr S, Back Building, Saint Petersburg, FL 33707, United States. Please keep an initial privacy inquiry general and avoid including sensitive records.
Changes
A revision date will accompany changes to this notice. New collection, analytics, advertising, donation, payment, account or research-intake features require a review of actual data handling before launch.
